About the Event
How does high-end luxury resonate with cultural preservation?
At the Shinsegae Heritage Project, Creative Director KyungEn Kim is exploring exactly that question.
Today, cultural preservation is gaining renewed importance for governments and societies alike.
We understand the value of remembering our roots, protecting historic buildings, safeguarding artefacts, and preserving traditional skills. Yet these efforts often remain confined to museums, archives, and academic spaces.
Shinsegae Heritage proposes a different approach.
Rather than placing culture on the sidelines of society, the project integrates heritage into everyday life, transforming traditional craftsmanship and cultural knowledge into contemporary, high-end objects people choose to live with, wear, and give. Preservation becomes not something we visit, but something we inhabit.
