In South Korea's gaming industry, female developers are harassed, investigated, and fired for perceived feminist beliefs. Organized campaigns of male gamers monitor and target women working in this industry.
Minsung Kim is a gamer and activist. He founded an organization dedicated to supporting victims of anti-feminist abuse in the gaming industry. That he does important work was clear, when a game animator faced death threats over a single animation frame misinterpreted as feminist messaging, MinSung’s organisation stepped in to help. Thanks to this strategic intervention, the female employee kept her job. A rare victory in an industry where women are routinely fired to appease angry mobs.
